In the center of leisure: everything that rocks and crashes
From the end of the 1960s, the “Freizeitzentrum West” (recreational center west) was a guarantee that fascinating bands would come to the city to play. In the unusual youth club to the west of the inner city in the Kreuzviertel district, with a bowling alley in the cellar, a cinema and a minigolf course, there’s space for an audience of just 350. For over 40 years, upcoming bands have played here, such as the Scorpions, Bad Religion, Green Day, White Stripes or die Fantastischen Vier. The cellar of the FZW has also hosted the “Club Trinidad” since the mid-1990s, which over time became the well-known electronic music festival, “Juicy Beats”. In the interim, the FZW has become larger and more commercial elsewhere. The “old FZW” is a legend that has inspired countless music fans from the region.
